Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people post in the wrong community?

I was scrolling through the General Discussion feed yesterday and saw a whole thread about fixing a leaky faucet. This is a place for talking about general discussion topics, not home repair. It matters because it makes the forum messy and hard to follow. I know because I've been a member here for about two years and see it happen a lot. Does anyone have a good way to gently point this out to folks without sounding rude?

Honestly, I see where you're coming from, but I kind of disagree. Calling out every wrong post makes the forum feel less friendly. A leaky faucet chat in general discussion might just be someone new who doesn't know the rules yet. Jumping in to correct them can seem nitpicky and might scare them off from posting at all. Sometimes the best help comes from unexpected places, even if the topic is a little off. A bit of mess is just part of a busy, living community.

Could you maybe just link them to the right place? I usually say something like "Hey, you might get better help in the home repair section.
