A guy at the hardware store told me my drill bit was the wrong angle for concrete

I was trying to hang a shelf in my garage and my bit kept getting stuck. This older guy named Frank saw me struggling and said, 'Kid, that's a 118-degree bit for metal. You need a 135-degree for concrete.' I bought the right bit and it went through like butter. What's the most basic tool mistake you've ever had someone point out?

Oh man, I once tried to use a flathead screwdriver on a Phillips head screw for way too long. My buddy just silently handed me the right one. I felt like a total genius.

My last apartment had a stripped Phillips screw in the bathroom cabinet. I spent twenty minutes trying to get it out with a butter knife before I gave up. The feeling of defeat is real, lmao.
