My uncle told me to always use a breaker bar on axle nuts, and he was right when mine was stuck at 180 ft-lbs.

I was about to strip the socket with my impact until I borrowed his 24-inch bar and it popped right off with a solid pull.

Holy cow, your impact was set to 180 foot-pounds?

Yeah, learned that the hard way last year. Back it off to around 120 for most lug nuts, saves your sockets and your knuckles.

Man, I saw a video where a guy snapped his studs clean off at 150.
