My foam-free centerpiece held up perfectly

Lots of florists swear by foam, but I tried a chicken wire base instead. It was easier to recycle and the flowers stayed fresh all night.

Ever tried taping a grid of chicken wire over the top of a vase? I do that for tall arrangements. It gives you way more spots to stick stems than just foam, and you can still pour water in. The wire keeps things steady and the flowers drink up all night.

Huh. Foam's more secure in my experience.

Ever notice how people stick with what they know even when there's a better way? It's like using foam just because it's the default... even when wire works and doesn't create trash. Old habits die hard, I guess.
