PSA: tried a new underlayment on a big glue-down job in Springfield

Had a 2,000 square foot LVP glue-down job and used the standard 6 mil poly instead of the cork-backed stuff the supplier pushed. The cork was way better for sound... you could drop a tool and it just went 'thud' instead of that loud crack. Made the whole floor feel more solid underfoot too. Anyone else switch to cork for glue-down and notice a big difference?

Read a flooring forum thread where a few guys swore by cork for exactly that reason. Makes a huge difference in how the floor feels and sounds.

Agree with @shane_ross. Cork underlayment is a game changer for noise and comfort. Put it in my last place and the difference was night and day. Hard floors went from loud and cold to quiet and much warmer underfoot. It costs a bit more but it's worth every penny.
