My dad's old socket wrench set from the 80s finally gave out last weekend

The ratchet mechanism inside the 3/8-inch drive just stripped clean. I took it apart and realized the new ones at the hardware store are all made with thinner metal and cheaper gears. Anyone know a brand that still builds them to last, or is it just a fact of life now?

Always figured the old stuff was just nostalgia, but that gear comparison is hard to argue with.
