My ancient Kenmore dryer started making a horrible grinding noise last Tuesday
I pulled it out, took the back panel off, and found the idler pulley was totally shot, with the wheel wobbling on its shaft. I ordered a new one for $28 from AppliancePartsPros.com and swapped it in about 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a dryer pulley fail after, like, 15 years?
Oh man, that sound is the worst... my old washer's belt tensioner gave out last year with a similar metal-on-metal scream. Felt like a hero fixing it myself for under forty bucks.
