That one guy on Bogleheads who explained expense ratios with a pizza analogy
He said a 1% fee is like giving away a slice from every pie you ever buy, which made it click for me in a way charts never did. Anyone else have a simple comparison that finally made an investing concept stick?

Those analogies work because they turn abstract money into real stuff you already get. The stock market feels less like magic math when it's just slicing up a pizza or losing a piece of pie. Sometimes the simplest picture is the one that finally sticks.

The pizza thing is perfect. I needed that too because I'm the guy who once thought compound interest was just the bank being extra nice. My own lightbulb moment was hearing someone call a stock split "like cutting a pizza into more slices, the pie itself doesn't get bigger." Felt like a genius for five seconds, then realized I'd been overthinking it for years.
