Switched from the big finance forums to a small one focused on commercial property

I got tired of the noise on Bogleheads and moved to a niche forum with maybe 200 active members. The advice there is way more specific to my situation, like how to handle a 1031 exchange on a 4-unit building in Austin. Anyone else find the smaller, focused forums more useful than the massive ones?

Wait, is Bogleheads really considered a big finance forum? I always thought of it as the quiet, sensible place compared to the stock picking and crypto madness elsewhere. The noise you're talking about, is that just the sheer number of posts? Because I find the signal-to-noise ratio there is still pretty high for general investing. You're right about niche forums being gold for specific stuff though, nothing beats talking to people who've actually done the exact deal you're looking at.

You know how Bogleheads is supposed to be the quiet library, @piper_green? I get lost in the stacks and end up reading 40 threads on tax loss harvesting a single ETF.
