Shoutout to that finance forum debate that spilled into a family dinner
I was thinking about how finance forums have changed from text heavy boards to slick apps now. Years back, I posted a hot take on a forum about saving for kids college funds. This guy replied with a super long counter argument, and we went back and forth for days. Turned out he was my cousin in law who I had never met in person. At a big family meal, someone brought up money talk, and he recognized my username from my rant. We both froze up, and the whole table got quiet for a minute. It was funny after, but man, that was a weird way to find out we were related. Forums used to feel like separate worlds, but now everything is so connected. Makes you think about how small the world really is.

Arguing with your cousin in law on a finance forum? That is absolutely crazy. You had no idea who he was behind the screen. Forums felt like different worlds, so running into him at dinner was a shock. It really shows how everything is connected now. Makes you think twice before posting hot takes online.

Remember, cousin-in-law isn't a real term. It's just your cousin's spouse.
