Hit a wall with my credit union after a disputed charge in March
Back in March I had a $200 charge on my debit card from a gas station in Tulsa that I never visited. I filed a dispute with my credit union right away and they gave me a temporary credit. But last week they sent me a letter saying the investigation came back in the merchant's favor and now they reversed the credit. I called them and the rep said they matched the signature on the receipt to mine, but I know for a fact I wasn't even in Oklahoma that day. Has anyone else had luck pushing back on a dispute denial like this?

My uncle had a similar thing happen with his bank back in 2019, he got charged $150 at a restaurant two towns over and they just looked at the signature and said it matched even though he was at work three hours away. What I remember is he went into the branch and talked to someone in person, not on the phone, and they eventually pulled the security camera footage from the ATM that was near the restaurant. It took like six weeks but they finally ruled in his favor when the guy on the tape was clearly not him. Maybe see if your credit union has a local branch you can visit and ask about camera evidence near that gas station.

Oh wow, @finley939's uncle really proved that showing up in person can make all the difference when banks try to brush you off.
