I used to think my ginger bug was a dud after a week with no bubbles

But I left it on the counter for five more days and now it's fizzing like crazy, maybe my kitchen was just too cold. Anyone else have a slow starter that finally took off?

Five more days on top of the first week? That's some serious dedication to a jar of ginger. I would have dumped it out and started over by day four, easy.

Ginger bugs are the ultimate test of patience, aren't they? You stare at that jar for days, convinced you've created a fancy paperweight. Then, out of nowhere, it decides to throw a tiny, fizzy party (just to prove you wrong). My last one sat there looking dead for over a week before it finally woke up. Guess they just run on their own weird, sugary timeline.
