Shoutout to the inspector in Bend who called my post spacing lazy
He said my 8-foot sections looked 'like a cheap accordion' in the wind. Now I never go over 7 feet without a solid brace. Anyone else get called out on something basic they were skipping?

Oh man, that hits home. My inspector saw my deck ledger board and just shook his head. No flashing. Said it was a "rot buffet." Felt like an idiot. Went home, tore off the siding, and put in the proper metal flashing that same weekend. Sometimes you need that blunt talk to kick you into gear.

Remember that inspectors see the same lazy mistakes a thousand times. They get a bit poetic when they're tired of it. His accordion line probably saved you a future call back.

My inspector once called my wiring a "fire starter kit" (thanks nora10, that tracks).
