Turning my grandma's crochet doilies into a cardigan collar sparked a whole vintage inspiration board
In my experience, reworking found linens into fashion pieces can unlock personal stories, but your mileage may vary with stitch integrity.

My aunt tried to turn some old embroidered napkins into patchwork pockets on a denim skirt. Looked cool for about a week, but the thin fabric just shredded where she'd sewn it on. Kinda proved the point that some linens are just too delicate, lol.

Tbh, reworking old linens into clothes seems like a bad idea to me. Those doilies were made to last on tables, not to be worn and stretched out. I tried sewing a lace tablecloth onto a jacket once and the stitches gave way after two washes. You're basically destroying vintage items that could have been passed down as they were. It turns something with history into a fast fashion gimmick that won't hold up. Plus, the fabric often doesn't match modern clothing needs, so it just looks messy.

Give forgotten linens a new story by crafting them into clothes you'll actually wear.
