Stumbled on a stat about fabric waste that blew my mind

I was reading this article from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation last week and found out the fashion industry makes over 92 million tons of textile waste every year. That number includes stuff like offcuts from factories and unsold clothes that get burned or dumped. It really got me thinking about how much fabric I personally toss when I'm prototyping designs. I started saving my scraps and sorting them by size and color to use for practice pieces or patchwork. Has anyone else found a good way to reuse leftover fabric from your projects?

I sort scraps in old shoeboxes and use the tiny ones for stuffing mockups.

Is it really worth keeping tiny scraps that just take up space and never get used?
