Just realized I've sketched over 500 pocket designs since art school
It hit me when I was cleaning out my flat file and found my first portfolio. Anyone else get surprised by how one small detail becomes a whole thing you do?
Ever notice how the weird stuff you do without thinking becomes your whole style? I used to draw tiny gears on everything, just a nervous habit. Now people ask for them. @jesseb20 is right about finding a niche, but for me it was less about finding it and more about it finding me while I was just messing around. Cleaning out old work is the best proof you have a real thing going, even if you didn't plan it.
