A lady in the grocery line made my whole week with one comment about my jacket

I was at the Safeway in Bellingham, just buying milk, wearing a denim jacket I'd painted with fabric markers. This older woman behind me tapped my shoulder and said, 'Young man, that's the most cheerful thing I've seen all day.' She asked if I'd made it, and when I said yes, she told me to never stop making people smile with my work. It was just a two minute chat, but it stuck with me. You painted a denim jacket with fabric markers and it actually held up in Bellingham weather. That's the real miracle here. Those things usually wash out in the first drizzle.

Remember when everyone was using sharpies on shoes? My friend did that and they bled into a sad purple mess after one walk in the rain. Guess some markers just have better staying power.
