Lost $150 on a meal kit subscription I never actually used

I signed up for HelloFresh after a coworker kept raving about it. Three weeks in, I had four boxes sitting in the fridge with half the ingredients going bad because I just kept ordering takeout instead. Anyone else fall for the convenience hype or is it just me?

The "convenience hype" got me too with Blue Apron. What finally worked was canceling the subscription and just buying one pre-made meal kit from the store when I actually wanted to cook. Way less pressure and I actually used the ingredients before they went bad.

Hard disagree. The subscription kept me accountable.
