Am I the only one who had to choose between covering for a coworker's lie or telling the boss the truth about a missed deadline?
Honestly, I picked telling the boss the truth yesterday, and now my whole team is giving me the cold shoulder because the project lead got chewed out.

Covering for them just makes it worse later.

Oh man, my buddy tried to cover for his coworker who kept showing up late. He'd clock him in for a week straight. Then the boss checked the security tapes and fired them both. My friend lost a good job over that. It was a huge mess that just blew up.
