I finally looked up how many phones get thrown away each year and the number is insane
I was reading a report from the EPA website yesterday. It said over 150 MILLION cell phones are tossed in the trash every single year in the US alone. That's like, half a million phones a day ending up in landfills. It hit me that every single one of those is a repair we probably could have done. Has anyone else tried to push more repair options in their local area to fight this?

That EPA report is wild. When you say repair shops are everywhere, are you talking about mall kiosks or actual independent shops with soldering gear? Because I feel like the real barrier is people not knowing where to go for a complex board repair, not just a screen swap.

Honestly? Most people just want a new phone. Repair shops are already everywhere, they just don't get used enough.
