Just realized how much I miss running conduit with an old foreman from Philly

He always said "bend it once, measure twice" and after swapping stories with a new guy who never learned to use a hand bender, it hit me how much that skill is fading and does anyone else feel like the old school methods are getting lost on the younger crews?

Keep a hand bender in your truck and offer to show them a few tricks. Nothing teaches like seeing a perfect offset on the first try. Have you worked with any guys who actually want to learn?

The hand bender trick works but ONLY if they actually care about conduit work, not just getting through the day. Most guys who want to learn will ask questions or hang around after the job is done to watch you bend. The ones who don't care won't remember the lesson after lunch anyway.
