My neighbor Bob swore by that spray foam for sealing windows so I went ahead and did all 12 of them one Saturday last fall
Turns out he was right about the draft stopping, but now my upstairs bedroom windows won't open at all because the foam expanded more than the can said, and has anyone else had to cut that stuff out with a serrated knife because it sets like concrete?

Twelve windows in one go is a rookie move. You should've done one first, seen how it went, then decided if you wanted to do the rest. Sucks you gotta cut it all out now but that's on you for trusting Bob without testing it.

Doesn't it feel like every home improvement project turns into something way bigger than you planned for? I've noticed that a lot of stuff that's supposed to make life easier just ends up creating a new set of problems you gotta fix. Like that time I used expanding foam on a gap around my dryer vent, and it pushed the whole vent out of the wall because I didn't read the fine print about how much it swells up. Or when I tried those no-drill cabinet handles that promised a quick upgrade, and they just popped off every time you opened a door, leaving sticky residue everywhere. Seems like everything nowadays is sold as a one-step fix but actually comes with a few more steps you never signed up for.
