I finally understand why people hate 'smart' light switches

I read a thread where a guy said his wifi light switch took 8 seconds to turn on because it had to phone home to a cloud server. That's just insane to me. My dumb switch works instantly every time, and it didn't cost $40. Has anyone else given up on smart home stuff for basic features?

And @mason283 you're living the dream honestly. I got talked into a "smart" bathroom fan switch and now I have to pull out my phone to turn on the light when my hands are wet. It's like they designed this stuff for people who never actually have to use their hands. My dumb switch in the kitchen works every single time and doesn't care if I spill coffee on it. Some things just don't need to be connected to the internet.
