Rant: Stop using command strips for anything over 5 pounds
I saw a guy on YouTube hang a 15 pound mirror with four command strips and thought yeah that looks easy. Tried it on my bathroom mirror last Tuesday and it crashed down at 3am. Shattered into like 40 pieces all over the tile floor. Has anyone else had these things fail on them or did I just put them on wrong?

I actually read something after my own command strip disaster where a hardware blogger tested a bunch of them and found that humidity and tile texture both mess with the adhesive way more than the package lets on. My bathroom mirror went down around the same time of night, just a loud crack then glass everywhere. The package says 5 pounds max per strip but I think that's on a perfect smooth painted wall in a climate controlled room, not a steamy bathroom. Maybe try the velcro brand heavy duty ones if you ever attempt it again, those held my medicine cabinet for two years no problem.
