Spent $800 on a new pump impeller and it was worth every penny
I mean, my old cutter suction dredge was losing pressure for months, maybe 6 months. I kept thinking it was just a clog or something simple. Finally bit the bullet and got the whole new impeller kit from the manufacturer. The difference was night and day, like we went from a trickle to full flow in an hour. It saved me from a bigger breakdown and a whole lot of downtime. Anyone else had a part replacement that just fixed everything?

Oh man, I know that feeling exactly. I put off replacing the hydraulic pump on my old backhoe for way too long, just patching it up. Finally dropped the cash on a new unit last fall. It was like getting a whole new machine, the power came back instantly. That kind of fix hurts the wallet up front but saves you so much headache and lost work.

How much did that set you back, @tylerw92? Read a piece once about how those band-aid fixes on hydraulics just cost more in fuel and downtime in the long run. Sounds like you made the right call.
