Remember when you could hear a pump cavitate from a hundred yards away?
Last week on the Columbia River job, I was watching the new guy stare at a tablet screen showing real-time flow data. Three years ago on that same stretch, you'd know something was wrong because the whole rig would start shaking like it was angry. Last month, we had to replace a worn impeller on the old 12-inch cutterhead dredge, and the only warning was a tiny dip in the pressure gauge. It's quieter now, but I kind of miss the feel of it. Anyone else find themselves missing the old sounds and shakes that told you everything?

Totally get what you mean, @ryan_hayes2. I had to do that last week when an email felt off, and calling the person directly cleared everything up.
