PSA: Hydraulic dredge pumps beat electric every time in soft ground
I worked a job near Baton Rouge last summer where the contractor insisted on using an electric pump for a canal cleanup. We spent twice as long clearing clogs compared to my regular hydraulic setup from Ellicott. The electric one just could not handle the silt and debris without constant babysitting. Has anyone else had better luck with hydraulics in soft muck?

Spent half a shift digging rocks and roots out of an electric pump intake on a job near Mobile. The guys on the hydraulic rig next to us just sat there eating lunch while we fought with it. Electric is great if you like playing mechanic every twenty minutes.

Whoa hold up, you're really gonna blame electric for a clogged pump intake? That's not a power source problem, that's a site prep problem. Hydraulic rigs get the same rocks and roots, you just can't see them fighting it because they're too busy burning through fuel and leaking oil everywhere.
