Spent $80 on a digital level and it was a total waste
Bought one of those fancy digital levels with the magnetic edge and backlit screen. Thought it would speed up my layout work on a big commercial job in Columbus. First week it worked fine, then the calibration drifted. I checked it against a bubble level and it was off by nearly a quarter inch over 4 feet. Ended up having to redo a whole row of ceiling grid because I trusted the digital readout. The bubble level my dad gave me 15 years ago still works perfectly and cost him maybe 12 bucks. Has anyone else had digital tools fail on them mid-job?

Man that stings. Nothing worse than trusting a digital readout and having to rip out work you already did. I've had a couple digital tools go wonky on me too, always makes me grab for the old school stuff after.

Old school stuff just WORKS. Digital tools are nice until they glitch and you waste a whole day. I'd rather trust a bubble level and a tape measure than some app that updates and breaks itself. Not knocking tech but there's a reason guys keep the classic tools nearby.
