Looking back at my choice between manual and digital for site layouts
I mean, about six years ago I had to pick between sticking with my old drafting table and vellum or going full digital with a tablet. I chose the tablet, a Wacom Cintiq 16, and it was a rough start for the first three months. I missed the feel of paper and my lines felt shaky, but now I can't imagine going back. The speed for changes alone, like moving a whole wall section in seconds, is just crazy. Anyone else make that switch and have a hard time at first?

Wait, are you saying you went straight from paper to a Cintiq? That's a huge jump. Most people I know used a regular tablet for a while first to get used to the hand-eye thing. Going right to a screen must have been wild.

How did you get past the shaky lines at first? I went from paper to a regular Intuos tablet, and my trick was just doing these really slow, deliberate warm-up circles and lines for five minutes before any real work. It felt silly, but it forced my brain to connect my hand with the cursor on the screen.
