Tried to fix a boot loop by reseating my RAM and ended up bending a pin on the motherboard socket
Spent 3 hours thinking it was a driver issue but turns out I just mangled the cpu socket while trying to press the ram in harder, has anyone else done something this stupid with a Ryzen build?

Did you check if the motherboard tray was warped before you started? Sometimes a bent case can shift the socket just enough to mess up the pins when you push on anything.

Wait, have you ever had a case that was so bent you had to shove a screwdriver in the corner just to get the motherboard tray to sit flat? I had this old Thermaltake tower once that was dropped in shipping and the whole back panel was tweaked. It was like trying to install a board into a Pringles can. Every time I tightened a screw it felt like the socket was doing a little dance under the CPU. Ended up using some plastic standoffs I had lying around just to level it out.
