Thought PSU cable extensions were snake oil... until my GPU started crashing in games
I spent 6 months blaming my RX 6800 for black screens in Cyberpunk, even swapped thermal pads twice. A buddy loaned me his set of CableMod extensions last Tuesday and the crashes just stopped. Anyone else have a simple cable fix solve something you thought was a hardware defect?

Did you check your original PSU cables first? I'm not convinced extensions alone fixed a crashing GPU problem, sounds more like maybe one of your stock cables had a loose pin or didn't seat properly. I've seen people swap out perfectly fine cables just to realize their real issue was a dying power supply or a bad motherboard slot. Plus extensions add another connection point, which can actually cause voltage drop if the wires are thin or poorly made. Before I blamed six months on hardware, I'd want to test the same extensions with a different PSU model to be sure.

Did I build my whole PC in the dark, or was that just me?
