Swapped thermal paste from cheap stuff to Arctic MX-6 and my CPU dropped 12 degrees idle
After fighting random shutdowns in my Ryzen 5 build for 3 months I finally decided to pull the cooler. The old thermal paste was some no-name tube I got off eBay for $3. It was dry and cracked. Spent $15 on Arctic MX-6 at Micro Center in Austin and now my CPU sits at 32c instead of 44c. Does brand actually matter that much or did I just get a bad batch originally?
You ever have a friend who worked at a bakery? My buddy swore by their house-made stuff for cookies but used the cheap tube stuff for gingerbread houses because nobody eats those anyway.
