Had a full week of bluescreens I was sure was the GPU

Turned out it was a single loose RAM stick. Took me 4 days and a trip to Micro Center before a kid at the counter told me to reseat my memory. Has anyone else spent days chasing a hardware ghost only to find it's something that simple?

Oh man, that's the classic move. Spent a whole weekend once ripping my PC apart because it kept crashing in games. New thermal paste, fresh drivers, the whole nine yards. Turned out my cat had nudged the power cable just loose enough so it would randomly lose connection. Never trust a cat or a RAM stick for sure.

Right? That "never trust a cat" line from @wesleyjohnson hits too close to home. I swear life is just one big chain of blaming the wrong thing for problems. You think it's the big complicated part like the thermal paste or the drivers, but it's always something stupid like a loose cable or a cat being a cat. Same thing happens when your car starts making a weird noise and you panic about the transmission, then it's just a pebble stuck in the tire tread. We're all wired to look for dramatic answers when the boring truth is usually right in front of us. I guess that's why we end up wasting entire weekends on stuff that could've been fixed by just checking the obvious first.
