Drilled straight through my case side panel yesterday trying to add a fan grill

Was working on my old NZXT case in the garage around 9 PM. Marked the spot for a 120mm fan on the side panel, got my drill out, and completely forgot to check the depth. Bit went right through the plastic and left a nasty hole about half an inch below where the grill was supposed to go. Looked like a bullet hit it. Ended up covering it with a piece of black electrical tape for now. Has anyone else messed up a case mod and found a decent way to patch a hole without welding?

You're asking about patching a bullet hole like you want to hide it, but honestly, that electrical tape sounds like a solid modding move if you ask me. A clean tape job with black on black plastic is practically invisible from five feet away, and it keeps dust out way better than a bad weld job would. I'd argue that half the fun of case mods is coming up with janky fixes that work, not making everything look like a factory build.

Had a buddy tape up a hole in his truck bumper that way, lasted three winters.
