Shoutout to the guy who told me my tile spacing was way off

I was grouting my kitchen backsplash in Phoenix last month and some random neighbor walked over and said my 1/8 inch gaps would look crooked. He had me pull a few tiles and reset them with 3/16 spacers, and yeah, the difference is huge. Anyone else get unsolicited advice that actually saved a project?

You know what's funny about that... I had a similar thing happen with my fence last summer. This old guy just walked up while I was digging post holes and told me I needed to go deeper because of the freeze line. I was like, sure grandpa, whatever. But he was right of course, I would've had a leaning fence after the first winter. Sometimes the random advice is annoying but when it comes from someone who's done it before, it's worth listening. The tile spacing thing makes sense too because if your eye catches it, everyone's gonna notice.

Had a plumber yell at me for my shower valve placement. Saved a total disaster.
