Appreciation post: how a farmer's market vendor changed my whole approach to email lists
I was at the local farmer's market last Saturday and this lady selling honey had a little clipboard with a sign-up sheet. She wasn't pushy at all, just said "if you want a heads up when the wildflower honey drops, put your email here." I asked her about it and she said she sends maybe one email a month, no spam, just a quick note. I realized I've been overthinking my own email strategy for years, like every send has to be a full newsletter or promotion. Now I'm dialing it back to just updates that people actually want, like she does. Has anyone else found a super simple email approach that works better than the complicated stuff?

That "one email a month, no spam" thing is KEY. I bet most people unsubscribe not because they get too many emails, but because every single one feels like a desperate cash grab.
