My main laptop charger fried itself in a Lisbon cafe last month. Had to buy a universal one for 45 euros that barely works.

That universal charger probably killed your battery health by 20% already. Honestly, those things are a total scam.

Total scam" is exactly it. Feels like everything is sold as a universal fix now, but it just makes things worse. You buy one thing to solve a problem and end up with two new ones.
