I bought a 'global' mobile plan that didn't work in Lisbon

Paid $80 for a month of data that was supposed to work across Europe. Landed in Portugal and my phone just said 'No Service'. The company's help line told me Portugal was not included in my plan's zone, which was not clear when I signed up. I had to buy a local SIM card anyway, so that $80 was just gone. Has anyone else had a mobile plan fail them right when they landed somewhere new?

Wait, they charged you $80 for a month? That's a huge amount for a plan that just doesn't work. I'd be so mad.

My friend's plan did that too... total scam like @linda_butler28 said.
