Switched to a new email subject line formula and saw opens jump 30% in 2 weeks

My old subject lines were just boring product names like 'New Widget Available'. Then I read a blog post about using curiosity gaps and emotion words. I changed all my subject lines to something like 'Quick question about your business goals' or 'You wont believe what we found'. In 14 days my open rate went from 18% to 48%. Has anyone else seen a big jump just by tweaking subject lines?

Oh wow, 48% is super impressive but just a heads up that curiosity gap stuff can backfire if you overdo it.
