Unpopular opinion: I thought digital art shows were just for experts until my piece got noticed

I used to sketch on my tablet and never share it with anyone. On a whim, I uploaded a drawing to a community showcase last month. A stranger messaged me saying the colors helped them through a rough day. That simple feedback made me see digital art in a new light. Now I understand how these showcases build real support between creators and viewers. This small win has me drawing every evening instead of just watching shows. I'm definitely submitting to more online galleries from now on.

My sketches look like a toddler got hold of a stylus. Isn't it wild how we assume no one will care about our art? Your story proves that even simple pieces can mean a lot to someone. Why do we hide our work until a stranger gives us permission to feel proud? I've been sitting on a folder of half-finished drawings for years. Maybe it's time to let them see the light, huh?

Your half-finished drawings, @lewis.diana, you know, the messy ones, hold the most honest parts of your art.

Markpalmer is right about the messy bits. Those half-finished lines show the artist thinking, not just performing. A polished piece can hide the struggle, but a sketch lays it all bare. We treat them like secrets because they feel too close to our own raw thoughts. Sharing them is a real act of trust.
