Showerthought: My digital painting's final touches ate my week.
Every small edit piled up, stealing all my free time.

Watch how those tiny fixes stack up and steal your time. I see this pattern everywhere, like when I try to clean my desk and end up reorganizing everything. It's the same with your painting, where each small edit feels necessary but adds up. Our modern lives are full of these little traps that eat our free time. We get caught in the details and lose track of the big picture. It's a shared struggle, I find.

Yeah that endless tweaking is the worst part of finishing any creative work. @troybell is right about how those small fixes pile up into huge time chunks. It's a trap every artist falls into at some point.

That "trap every artist falls into" line is so true. I wonder how much of it now comes from seeing endless polished work online. It trains you to think your own stuff needs that same level of perfect finish before anyone sees it, which just feeds the tweak cycle.
