Tried a 5% biodiesel blend in an older 7.3 Powerstroke and the injectors got louder
Everyone at the shop in Tulsa said it would be fine, but after two tanks, the injector clatter was noticeably worse and I found some gunk on the fuel filter. I switched back to straight #2 and the noise went down within a week. Has anyone else run into this with older HEUI systems on anything but pure diesel?

Yeah, that gunk on the filter is the giveaway. My old 7.3 ran like a bag of hammers on any bio blend, it just doesn't play nice with the old seals and the high pressure oil system. I learned that lesson the expensive way, with a new set of o-rings.
