Old timer in Nashville told me to stop using zip ties on fuel lines
I was securing some fuel return lines on a Cummins ISX with zip ties like I always did. This retired mechanic walked by my bay and said 'those will chafe through in about 6 months on a truck that vibrates that much'. He showed me the nylon p-clips with rubber inserts from the parts room. Swapped them out on my last 3 jobs and they actually hold way better without cutting into the hose. Has anyone else had zip ties fail on them down the road?
