The $2 price tag sticker that exposed my grocery store habit
Last week I grabbed a jar of pasta sauce and noticed the clearance sticker said $1.99, but the shelf tag said $3.49. I went to self checkout and it rang up $3.49 because nobody updated the system. After that I started scanning everything with my phone app before I even put it in the cart, and I caught 4 mispriced items in 2 days at the Kroger on Main Street. Has anyone else had luck getting the store to honor the shelf price after the sticker is gone?

I used to just pay whatever it rang up because arguing over a couple bucks felt like a waste of time. Then I caught a $6 difference on a thing of coffee and realized I'm basically donating money to a store that makes billions, so now I check the shelf tag before I even get to the register. They do have to honor the marked price in most states, but you gotta ask for a manager and sometimes show them a picture of the shelf tag.
