Why does nobody talk about how much a GPU sag bracket changed my airflow?

I used to just let my GPU hang there, looked fine to me. Then last month I saw a post from a guy in Denver showing his temps dropped 5 degrees after propping the card up level. I got a cheap bracket off Amazon for $12 and sure enough, my bottom intake fan was getting choked by like 40% before. Now my 3080 runs 4C cooler and my bottom fans actually push air to the ram sticks. Has anyone else seen a bigger temp difference than they expected from just leveling the card?

Wait, so you're telling me I spent six months blaming my CPU thermal paste job when my GPU was literally sagging into my intake fan like a tired hound dog? I finally got one of those little stick brackets after my third fan started making a grinding noise, and turns out the bottom edge of my 3070 was basically resting on the fan blades. My temps dropped 6 degrees just from lifting the card up a quarter inch. Did you also notice your RAM temps improve?

Honestly I'm not convinced this is as big of a deal as people make it out to be. I mean yeah sure, your card sagging into a fan is obviously bad, but six months and you didn't notice it was making contact? That seems a little careless to me. And a 6 degree drop is nice but it's not like you were hitting critical temps before, right? I've had cards sag a bit for years and never saw any real difference in performance or noise. Feels like one of those things the internet hypes up way too much.
