Hot take: my 140mm top exhaust fan made my GPU 6C hotter, not cooler

Pulled the top rear exhaust out of my Fractal North after watching temps climb from 68C to 74C on my 4070 Super over two weeks, and I kid you not, the card dropped right back to 68C the same night, which tells me that fan was stealing fresh air from the front intake before it ever reached the GPU, so now I want to know if anyone else has run a top exhaust with a front mounted AIO and actually seen it help instead of hurt.
