Why does nobody talk about the smoking policy on Alaska cruises?
I went on a 7-day Alaska cruise out of Seattle last June. The outdoor smoking areas were tucked behind the pool deck, right where everyone walks to get food. I counted 14 people in that spot during breakfast hour. Kids saw it all. The ship had a casino smoking section too, but the smell drifted into the atrium. I asked three crew members about ventilation, they just shrugged. The brochure said "designated areas" but nothing about how close they were to foot traffic. If you have asthma or kids, you need to check the deck plans before you book. Every line does this differently. Has anyone else got stuck near the smoking section on a scenic cruising day?

That's what you get for booking a cruise without reading the fine print. Smokers got rights too, and the casino smell is part of the charm.
