My balcony cabin ritual was backwards for 7 cruises
I always woke up early on port days, ate breakfast in the buffet, then rushed to the top deck for photos. Last trip on the Carnival Glory in Cozumel, I saw families having coffee and pastries on their balconies while the ship docked. It hit me that I spent $400 extra for a balcony and used it maybe 20 minutes total the whole week. Now I order room service the night before and just sit out there watching the pier come to life, way better than fighting for a deck chair. Anyone else pay for a balcony and barely use it?
Wow, this totally changed my mind about balconies! I used to book them and treat the whole thing like a storage closet, just dumping my bags and leaving. On my last cruise I finally sat out there with a coffee while we pulled into Nassau and watched the whole pier wake up, guys tying ropes and taxis lining up. Now I'm hooked and honestly mad at myself for wasting all those other trips. That extra money finally feels like it's doing something.
