Vent: my writing group went from 12 prompts a month to 3, and I think I know why
When we started back in March, everyone was tossing out prompts left and right, but after our one loud guy quit in July it dropped to maybe 3 a month and half of those get zero replies. Is it better to have fewer prompts where everyone actually writes, or a ton where most just scroll past? Curious what your groups do.
Twelve prompts a month down to 3 sounds like a big drop, but was the quality really better before? I was in a group of about 15 people where we had 20 prompts a month and honestly most of them got one or two replies at best. The loud guy leaving might just mean the people left are actually writing instead of tossing out ideas they never follow through on. Three prompts where folks actually post their work beats twelve where everyone just scrolls. Seems like you might be blaming the wrong thing here.
