Spent 2 years writing prompts with a full backstory before I saw a one-sentence prompt get 200 replies
I finally noticed last month that everyone was engaging with these bare-bones prompts like 'a key appears in your pocket' while my elaborate 3-paragraph setups got zero comments, so has anyone else tried stripping their prompts way down to see if that pulls more people in?

Three weeks ago I dropped a 700-word saga about a cursed lighthouse and got 3 likes, then the next day I posted "the vending machine gives you change that isnt money" and woke up to 87 replies. People just want to grab the wheel themselves, I swear. It feels weirdly lazy at first but the chaos is way more fun to watch lol

Saw a blogger say ambiguity lets people fill in their own story, so yeah, less is more.
